The Japanese fishing vessel the Eihatsu Maru has successfully been pulled from Clifton First Beach on Friday, and is being towed to Cape Town Harbour. Salvagers managed to refloat the vessel after a number of unsuccessful attempts since it ran aground early on Saturday morning. The salvage team had welded a bracket into the longliner which could withstand the required pull force, after a tow line had previously snapped.
